- Is there Technical Service
information available?
Tech Service can be reached at (800)822-2947. Their hours
of availability are Mon-Fri 0530-1830, Sat
0730-1330. This service is staffed by Professionally
Trained Medical Technologists.
- What are the Test
Parameters?
There are 18 parameters with 3 part differential: WBC, RBC,
HGB, platelets, lymphocytes (%, #), monocytes (5, #),
granulocytes (%, #), MCV, MCH, MCHC, Hct, RDW, PDW, MPV
and Pct.
- How often are controls run?
At least once per month or when you change reagents.
- What about calibration?
Human calibrator is used at installation, and when the
instrument needs re-calibration.
- Must I run different
controls for each species?
No. You select either a dog or cat control only.
- What pre-programmed species
are available?
Dog, Cat, Horse, Cow, Pig, Parrot, Goat, Sheep.
- How are the samples handled?
The process is completely automated. Just drop the
tube in the tray.
- What is the Tech Time per
CBC?
Actual hands on time is 10 seconds. Test report in
under 2 minutes.
- Is there Routine Maintenance
involved?
No. HMT automatically cleans at the end of each day.
- Are there bird and reptile
parameters?
No. Not at this time. (With the exception of
Parrot.)
- What is the shelf life of
Reagents?
1.5 years unopened. 90 days opened.
- What is the shelf life of
Controls?
2 weeks opened. 1 month unopened.
- What about Nucleated RBCs?
They can be identified by using histogram. Then you
must do a manual differential.
- What are the basics of the
Warranty and Service agreement?
Warranty period is one year.
Unlimited troubleshooting via telephone.
Major repairs require shipping to company. Turn
around time is 72 hours. Loaner available.
- What is the cost per test?
The reagent pack is good for 125 cycles. Cost per
test = $2.50. (This includes cleaning cycle.)
