TesTcup Checklist
- TesTcup should be stored at
room temperature. The foil pouch should not be
opened unless it is at room temperature.
- Review the expiration date
and lot number of the TesTcup. Use the TesTcup within 8
hours after opening and/or removing it from the foil
pouch.
- Collect a minimum of 30 mL
of urine (request that the cup is filled halfway).
- Close the TesTcup by turning
the lid until the tab is aligned with the blue arrow (the
"TEST" position), then gently pressing down on
the lid to ensure a tight seal.
- If the lid was in the locked
position (the "STOP" position) prior running the
test, turn to the "TEST" position for 1 minute
before tilting the cup.
- Run the test as soon as
possible after the sample has been collected.
- Gently tilt the TesTcup
forward (toward the front label) until the specimen is covering ½ to ¾ of the lid. Do not invert or shake
the cup. Hold the cup in the tilted position for a
full count of 10.
- Allow the TesTcup to stand
upright and undisturbed on a level surface while the
reaction is taking place. The lid should be in the
"TEST" position.
- After a distinct blue band
is observed in the "TEST VALID" window for each
assay, remove the Result label and place it on the
opposite side of the up, centered directly under the tab
and covering the venting hole.
- Read and record the
results. Appearance of any blue color in the test
result window depicts and negative result. A
"white plus sign" (absence of any color in the
test result window) depicts a positive result.
- If the TesTcup results are
to be confirmed (i.e., for shipment) or for storage, turn
the lid to the extreme, clockwise position (the
"stop" position) and follow standard chain of
custody procedures. (GC/MS confirmation is preferred).
